1980 XANADU COMIC BOOK DOWNLOAD
For those who have heard of Marvel Comics special 'Xanadu'
comic book but have never read it, the fine ELO site
'ELO/Discovery' has placed all 67 pages of this rare publication
on their download page in PDF and JPEG format,

You can find and download the entire package
HERE!
ORIGINAL XANADU SCRIPT
DOWNLOAD
The good folks at the ELO/Jeff Lynne site ELO/Discovery has
struck again with more Xanadu-related downloading goodness
(
see below)!

This time, it's the original script of Xanadu. I personally have not
combed through this version as of this posting (at least to
compare this to my version which I've lost track of WHAT draft it
is!!). Needless to say, there's enough to keep us fanboys and
fangirls busy!

You can download it from the sites download page
HERE!
SECRET MESSAGES
ELO has a long history of putting hidden messages in many of
their albums. They even released 'Secret Messages' in 1984
that had a goofy messages in every track.

Robert Porter of the Jeff Lynne Song Database had combed
through these titles and has listed many of these "codes" in a
new page of his site called 'Exposing The Secrets'.

....and, yes, Xanadu is caught up in this audio word play. You
can read the evidence
HERE!
XANADU BLUE-RAY (not what you think it is)
Are you getting impatient with Universal Studios on WHEN they
will release a Blue-Ray version of Xanadu?

The way things are going, you might have to (
politely) nudge
them. Here's a link to the studios
'Conract' page to do that
nudge deal.
THE UMPIRE STRIKES BACK?
As noted in the ODDS & ENDS section, a couple of Xanadu
tracks were used in Dickie Goodman's Election 1980 single.

Apparently, there is another sampled single that came out that
same year. 'The Umpire Strikes Out was released unofficially in
conjunction with the movie The Empire Strikes Out and it used
a snippet of 'I'm Alive' at the three minutes mark.

Here's the YouTube video of it
HERE. The Election 1980 page
has been updated with this discovery. Shout out to Strike at
LuxuriaMusic.com for the tip off!!
ALL OVER HYDE PARK
Jeff Lynne, or as billed Jeff Lynne’s ELO, made a very rare live
concert performance as part of BBC’s Hyde Park festival on
September 14th in London, UK.

Of particular Xanadu interest, Jeff opened his concert with a
rare visit to ELO’s more pop side of their catalog well as the
Xanadu soundtrack, a rousing performance of ‘
All Over the
World
’! A joyous moment had by all.

Parts of this show has been popping up everywhere on the
internet, mainly
HERE (audio) and HERE (video). See and
hear them while you can.
Small warning: Poor Jeff flubs the
lyrics near the end of AOTW.
