ONE SWELL FOOP
"Wendell" was a writer and producer for Sweet Dick's KGIL
stint in the mid-70s and currently has his own corner of the
internet containing thoughts and other comedic accidents.
Sadly, he has not only stopped posting at this old blog
(
Wendell.me), but has ditched his WENDELL nick name as
well.
HERE is selection of Sweet Dick related postings on the
old blog. Despite these changes, he still blogs, only under a
different name,
Antisequitur.

REELRADIO
Without out a doubt, this is the biggest radio aircheck
collection available on the internet! There are tons of
personalities and history to dropkick your modem into
overdrive. You need to be a member to listen to their
collection. They now have
a Sweet Dick aircheck!

AIRCHEXX
This is a free radio aircheck site and they, too, have a Sweet
Dick tape on tap; its the first hour of
his KHJ debut in
1983...technical glitches and all.

KGIL
This station has gone through many formats and ownership
for the past 20 years and tracking its changes is a small task.
Luckily, Wikipedia has managed to pin the details down. As of
late, the station digged up their old call letters and now calling
themselves
'Retro 1260'

MY LUSH LIFE
Douglas McEwan also had written and, later, produced Sweet
Dick's KGIL shows from the early 70s. Today he's an author
and has taken the lead character from his new book 'My Lush
Life' and given her a blog and, as of late, a corner on
Huffington Post!

AMERICA'S SUBURB
'The San Fernando Valley: America's Suburb' is the best
recent book on the history of the Valley. Much to the credit to
the author, Kevin Rodrick, you'll learn so much about this
large chunk o' real estate from his thorough research and the
large collection of photos and personal stories. This blog is an
out growth of the book, listing and updating the evolving SFV
history. UPDATE: Sadly, this hasn't been updated since 2007,
so here's a couple of blogs on the Valley side:

The Neighborhood Project: Northridge
If you've read my central 'Sin Fernando' piece, the SFV
suburb of Northridge sets largely in my memory and my
introduction to Sweet Dick. This large page offers a lengthy
tour of this town without the SFV heat and humidity

K-JEWEL
Here's the official web site of the station Whittington dose
image voice for. He is heard just before the national news at
every half hour.

JOHN ROOK
Here's a link of a autobiography by John Rook mentions his
"run-in" with Sweet Dick during his days with KFI-AM
CLAUD HALL
Mr. Hall use to be a columnist for Billboard
Magazine for years covering disc jockeys from
around the country, including Whittington.
Nowadays, he writes books loosely based on his
radio days and cook books and occasionally adds
a few mischief on his site, too.

LA RADIO
An huge site on all things and people in the Los
Angeles radio market, from in front and behind the
scenes...and they were nice enough to mention
this site when it first went on line. Thanks, guys!

THE UNOFFICIAL SWEET DICK
WHITTINGTON FACEBOOK BOOK
From the fanboy who brought you this here fansite
comes another heep of Sweet Dick-ness
internet-style, a FaceBook where fans can unload
their thoughts on the man and bitch to each other
on who listened to Sweet Dick the longest.
